Learning outcomes

After the course, the students will be able to do the following:

  • Explain fundamental concepts of business process management (e.g., processes, process orientation)
  • Identify and document core, management and support processes of organizations,
  • Assess process performance and identify potentials for improvement,
  • Use different methods and tools for business process modeling and evaluate the suitability of these for different application contexts, 
  • Describe the foundations of process simulation and apply corresponding software tools,
  • Explain and evaluate potential approaches to process automation with the help of information systems.
