The University of Texas at El Paso celebrated 100 years of excellence in 2014. Washington Monthly magazine ranked UTEP eighth in the nation in 2014 based on the university’s social mobility,  research production, and service, ranking first in the social mobility category. Department of Education data shows that UTEP is the best value and most affordable emerging research institution of  higher education in the country.The University of Texas at El Paso is the largest producer of Mexican-American STEM graduates in the country.

23,079 students enrolled in one of 70 bachelor’s, 76 master’s, 20 doctoral degree programs. An estimated 6,577 jobs are created as a result of UTEP’s presence in the area. UTEP has an annual economic impact on El Paso County of $1.3 billion dollars. With nearly $80 million in annual research spending, UTEP is dedicated to becoming the first national research university serving a 21st century student demographic.

The College is an AACSB Accredited School and less than 5% of the schools world-wide have earned this prestigious designation.

MBA programs received "Best of the Best" designation for the last 5 years by Hispanic Network, Professional Women and Black EOE magaines. It also received #1 designation for five years by HispanicMagazine . The program also received the "Excelecia in Education" recognition in Washington D
