This course addresses and it covers basic concepts and management of databases. The course will enable students to learn: normalization and transformation of data into databases with DBMS. The course will emphasize the Relational Model.

During the course, students individually or in groups, will carry out an application with MS SQL.    

Learning outcomes


  Upon completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Understanding and explaining the importance of data management and processing benefits from databases compared Files system.
  • Designing and modelling data with the Entity-Relationship (ER) model.
  • Understand and apply normalization in designing it to databases with ER model
  • Compilation of SQL commands and instructions (Structured Query Language).

Use MS SQL Server to manage databases.
