Founded in 1933, the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona upholds the visionary belief that business education helps shape the world in new and unprecedented ways through pioneering and practical research, innovative coursework, data-driven decision-making and excellence in entrepreneurship and social responsibility. Accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the Eller College of Management is home to more than 7,000 undergraduate, graduate and PhD students every year and offers 10 majors, six minors, nine specialty master’s programs, four MBA programs and six doctoral programs. The college also houses several centers of excellence that enhance the student experience and build practitioner relationships with the business community, and research labs that advance business education’s relevance to industry and society.

Bachelor Programs

The field of management information systems involves applying computer technology, quantitative techniques and administrative skills to the information processing requirements of organizations. MIS combines computer technology with management decision-making methods to analyze, design, implement and manage computerized information systems in an organizational environment. A bachelor's degree is generally adequate for entry-level jobs; graduate training is necessary for research and teaching positions. The undergraduate MIS program at the Eller College has placed in the top five nationally in U.S. News & World Report since the rankings' inception in 1989. Currently the MIS program ranks #3; #1 among public programs.

Our online Master's in Cybersecurity is for working professionals who want to gain technical mastery in the rapidly growing field of cybersecurity. In this challenging yet inclusive online program, you’ll learn how to assess, prevent and manage information and systems security-related risks by applying systems security management and post-breach practices through hands-on, interactive classes taught by the UA's excellent faculty. The 33-credit, interdisciplinary cybersecurity program enables students to complete a common core of courses and then select either the Information Systems or Physical Systems track.

PhD Programs

The Doctor of Philosophy in Management with a major in Management Information Systems is rigorous with an aim to train and prepare students to be critical and creative independent thinkers. An MIS PhD gives students the ability to perform critical analysis of existing work and to undertake research studies to advance academic understanding in the MIS field in the course of their PhD studies and in their subsequent career. The MIS PhD program prepares you for teaching and research careers involving the design, analysis, implementation and operation of computer-based information systems and other associated organizational and economic issues, starting with a solid foundation in research methodology. Building on this, it offers a unique synthesis of state of the art technologies and approaches from Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Economics, Operations Management, Statistics and Socio-technical networks, to name a few.
