Our goal is to train our graduates to become flexible and team oriented individuals, who are both able to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and use a scientific approach to practical problems. Traditional fields of occupation for our graduates are information- or project management, system specialists or it consulting. Furthermore, we also want to prepare our graduates to be able to pursue an academic career in Information Systems, as well as to qualify for management tasks in the future.
Information systems (IS) are dealing with the fields of economy, society and administration. The main goal of this discipline is to understand and organize IS in their application areas and to take implementation, usage and maintenance aspects into account. IS cover the interfaces of business studies, computer and engineering sciences and also incorporate own theoretical and methodological concepts. IS teaching is characterised
- Applicability
- Design orientation
- Integration of the economical, technical and social aspects
Alumni with qualifications in Information Systems are in a high market demand; both in the field of undergraduate as well the advanced education. The employment figures have been increasing constantly in this field for 15 years. The future prospects for alumni, particularly in comparison with other fields of business studies, are in general very good.
For this we provide the necessary theoretical foundations and methods in our lectures. By integrating state-of-the-art research into our curriculum, we want to achieve a close integration of teaching and research. In addition, students have the opportunity to work on current research issues and projects within the scope of their Bachelor's or Master's thesis.
