The Master of Science in Management offers young talent the opportunity to develop an individual competence in process management and strategy. Analytical knowledge combined with a strong practical understanding and a highly flexible programme profile prepares students for a successful career in banking, manufacturing or consulting.
This full-time, English language programme is designed to allow students to work part-time - up to three days a week. The programme duration is three semesters, plus one pre-semester. In addition, different time models are available. Students gain practical as well as international experience which is key for a career in management. Within the Master in Management, students can specialize in one concentration: marketing, international business, manufacturing, strategy & organization, and digital business.
About the Digital Business concentration:
Businesses in every industry are faced with the opportunities and challenges presented by digital transformation. The ubiquity of digital technologies, such as social media, mobile devices and sensor technologies, combined with the resulting availability of “Big Data” enables firms to ‘digitalise’ each and every part of their business. In so doing, marketing strategies and interaction with customers and supply chain partners are being transformed, decisions can be made quicker through the use of detailed real-time information, new digital products and services are being introduced, and business models are being transformed.
This concentration provides students with the managerial and analytical skills to help them evaluate the potential of digitalisation, to conceptualise effective solutions, and to manage the organisational challenges involved with the required changes. Job opportunities range across all industries and firm sizes (including start-ups), with some focus on how to transform their business by utilising data and digital technology.
The courses of the concentration are: Digital Management, Digital Marketing, and Digital Analytics. Further, students choose from a wide selection of electives and have the opportunity to accomplish more courses at one of our partner universities abroad.
The IS project runs over two semesters at the end of the study program. Students form a project team that designs, develops, implements, and rolls out an information system. Examples from previous years have been a crowdfunding platform or a mobile application and analytics cockpit for tracking student workload.
