Prerequisite: Application Software Usage. MMIS 6198 is an Enterprise Systems course that will serve as an overview of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) using SAP and an introduction to other enterprise system tools used to integrate systems together. Students should gain an understanding of the impact of ERP systems on organizations, using SAP and other systems as a working example. Students will also get hands on experience with the SAP system both Hosted and in the cloud and take a look at the alternative systems as well.
By the end of this course students should be able to: 1. Understand what an ERP system is 2. Gain experience working in an ERP system, specifically SAP 3. Understand integrated business processes with hands on using non-SAP systems 4. Understand criteria for high-quality information, and apply these criteria to evaluate information 5. Use an enterprise system to process key transactions 6. Demonstrate knowledge in various modules supporting integrated business processes 7. Demonstrate knowledge of SAP and various SAP products (including the cloud) 8. Explain the competitors and add-on products in the ERP arena.
