Enterprises pay increasing attention to consumers, and consumer behavior research has become an important topic. Structural equation modeling (SEM) makes up the shortage of traditional statistical approaches and becomes an important tool for multivariate analysis. SEM is commonly used in Information Systems research, and is one of the important tools to perform consumer behavior research. This course teaches the basis concepts, principles, and methods of SEM, and also discusses the supplementary role of SPSS in SEM research. In addition, this course teachers the full process of SEM, including instrument design, data collection, data analysis, model test, and result report. This course also gives out examples of SEM research in hot IS research topics. This course aims to let students understand SEM basis, understand the full process of SEM, know how to manipulate SEM software such as Lisrel, AMOS, and SmartPLS, and enable them to test solutions of management problems using SEM.
After completing this course, a student should be able to:

- Can manipulate SEM soft wares such as Lisrel, AMOS, and SmartPLS to analyze data.
- Can diagnose and analyze management problems, and use SEM method to design and test possible solutions.
